Good advice in keeping your dogs in good behavior isn’t always found in books. Bookstore sell books that claim on improving your pet dog’s experience and how to bond with it, but sometimes simple advice is good enough advice; just be there for your dog and don’t neglect it. The rest of it is to experience mistakes and correct them as you go along.
Any dog owners who have dogs that are in good behavior will tell you that a crucial factor in getting its respect is to make sure it understands that you are its boss. If your dog fails to realize that you are the alpha, the leader or its master, it will reject your commands and give it more reason to misbehave around you. Remember, your dog must earn your respect; it isn’t your job to wait to wait for it – it waits for you.
It is advised to feed your dog properly three times a day to keep it in good behavior. If you somehow underfeed your canines they will misbehave by either chewing on your furniture, going through your garbage or even eating its stool. However, if you over feed them, they will grow to be spoiled and thus ruin its respect for you. So it is important to keep your pet well-fed to keep it from misbehaving towards you.
Training builds your dog’s character; a healthy and active pet gives it a reason to be on its best behavior. If your dog is too lazy to go outside, remind it how much fun running around is. Exercise keeps it sharp while training it makes it internalize your commands as well as maintain its respect for you.
Making sure your pet is in its best behavior can be rough, but most experts advise you to balance your responsibility as its master and as its friend. Be too friendly to it and you might risk spoiling it. Be too domineering, however, and you might find yourself with a much traumatized dog.
